Which is What? Counseling Vs. Therapy

Mental wellbeing is an important part of our day-to-day life, and it gets better when we give it the care it needs. There are many ways to deal with the emotional and mental challenges that come our way, and counseling & therapy are two of them. Most of the time, these words are used interchangeably, but they are two very different practices.
  • Counseling is specifically for short-term concerns such as stress, conflict, decision-making issues etc. It focuses on finding solutions to the problem at hand and navigating these life challenges.
  • Therapy looks at deeper issues, specifically patterns of behavior, emotional issues and psychological concerns. It can be a long term commitment.
Both approaches are described below.
